The Harman Kardon EZset microphone is a calibration mic for speakers. In order to align with Harman Kardon’s focus on the highest possible design quality for price, Ashcraft Design knew that these elements had to be carried out to the smallest detail while yet remaining cost conscious. So rather than design an expected black injection molded mic that would quickly be forgotten, Ashcraft looked at ways inexpensive materials and processes could heighten the perceived value of the product. And what could have become an afterthought quickly became a signature piece that validated Sidney Harman’s original vision.
