Traditionally at opposite ends of the spectrum, fashion and technology were polar opposites. Technology, big and bulky. Fashion sleek and fitting. With technology becoming more a part of everyday mobile life through innovations in size and features, products need to blend with the consumer’s lifestyle.
How do you successfully incoporate elements trending in fashion with technology so that the device fits the consumers life? We worked with Seagate on this new external portable hard drive to create a design that celebrates the intersection of fashion and technology through the use of simple forms draped with textures and patterns inspired by the studs on leather jackets, boots, belts, and other accessories.
Studded clothing can be seen in trends from the punk rock scene to trendy chic girls. Studding contains both masculine and feminine elements that make it the perfect inspiration for a design element that helps bridge the gap between fashion and technology.
